The Workchoice team lives and breathes youth development. We are unapologetic zealots and advocates for New Zealand’s youth potential.
Workchoice powered by Skills is a major force in youth employability in New Zealand. We are more excited than ever, with the development of new programmes and new initiatives at the forefront of our work.
Ana is of Niuean descent - born and raised in Otara South Auckland, and now she lives in West Auckland.
Ana joins Workchoice from Unitec, where she was passionate about working with West Auckland Schools and youth for the last 10 years.
Family and community is very important to Ana, who comes from a large blended family, made up of 29 siblings! Ana looks forward to working in West and South Auckland schools, helping students and schools connect to the working world
Ray has spent the last 7 years in the Education sector, most recently leading a team in Student Support and Wellbeing at a Polytech.
Of Tongan descent, and coming from a blended family of 8! Family and his children’s school community plays a big part in Ray’s life to date.
Although Ray shares the schools vision of all students attending higher education after school, he is aware that for some, there will be alternative gateways that will assist them to achieve their own success.
Rays aim is to nurture and support all young people and their families into achieving all that they can through Workchoice programmes and support.
Shaun has been working in the Youth transition space for 10 years, and leads the Workchoice Programmes and Pathways Advisor team.
In Shaun’s’ experience real connections in the place of work are the most impactful and long-lasting impression a young person can get about their future career. The time an employer takes to guide and motivate a young person on their way in to work has immeasurable value to them as an individual, but also to their family, and the wider community. We all have a part to play in supporting New Zealands youth into sustainable employment.
Shaun lives Norwest of Auckland with his young family. Shaun does crazy endurance events in his spare time, and proudly grew up and completed his secondary school years in Southland.
Sina has worked directly with youth both professionally and within the community for the past six years. She enjoys connecting with youth and sees each individual as a whole person. Not just a student going into study or work, but a student facing life and all its surprises along the way!
She knows that the breaking point for majority of youth is the lack of strong role models. It is her aim to help youth identify their challenges and give them the right tools to become the best version of themselves in and out of school or workplace.
Sina comes from a family of four, born and bred in West Auckland and will soon have a little family of her own. She can be found outdoors catching up with friends over food or singing at a birthday or event.
