Currently 87,000 youth are unemployed and not enrolled in any form of education*. How many of the 62,000 students who will finish school this year, through no fault of their own, are likely add to that number? The youth unemployment crisis New Zealand is currently facing has encouraged The Workchoice Trust to look at just how they can help to address this issue and support our young people.
The Trust has been very busy, working hard on programme developments to ensure we provide students with motivating, relevant and useful resources and experiences. After a lot of time spent with our thinking caps on, communicating with schools and business, we have started to make a few exciting changes.
Workchoice Day is going to become more than just a day. Workchoice Day will of course remain a crucial part of our programme; it provides students nationwide a chance to get a real insight into the world of work. However, it is not enough. In addition to Workchoice Day, we will be developing our support programmes further for students, teachers and potential employers.
The Workchoice Trust links school and industry and we look forward to our eighteenth year of successful operations.
School and company registrations for Workchoice Day Tuesday 15 May 2012 are closing soon .
Students are interested in industries across the board and would welcome your company's participation. To find out more what's involved, or to register, please follow the links. If you would like to be added to our mailing list, please contact us.
